FOLLOW A PROVEN PROCESS

Train like the industry’s best dancers

Kyle has helped shape some of the industry’s most talented dancers. In this class, you’ll follow the same process, learning to move confidently and effectively like Kyle’s students below.

TRANSFORM THE WAY YOU DANCE

Level up your end-to-end dance skills

During this 30-day class, learn the full set of movement, storytelling, and dance skills Kyle uses and
teaches. This class meets you where you are and pushes your skills to new heights.

Fundamentals of Movement

Learn the holistic skills of a great dancer, from the technical aspects like controlled movement and clean transitions, to the more subtle elements like emotion, storytelling, and style. In this class, you’ll hone your abilities with three choreographed routines.

Learning and Retaining Choreography

Kyle explains his systematic approach for more quickly learning and retaining new choreography, sharing industry techniques like chunking, chaining, and microdrilling. Learn to internalize movement faster, so you can focus on your performance choices.

Body Awareness and Control

Kyle shares his exercises for developing fine control of each individual part of the body to make your movements clean, precise, and smooth. Increase your body awareness and improve your technique to execute choreography more precisely.

Delivering a Strong Performance

Kyle shows you how to use dynamics, storytelling, and personal style to deliver a compelling performance that tells a story and captivates an audience. You will incorporate everything you learn into three final performances that you can record and share.

Body Rolls, Hip Rolls, Full-Body Grooves

Kyle breaks down complex body rolls, hip rolls, and grooves into microsteps, then teaches how to combine them into simple and fluid movements. Mastering these foundational moves will improve your technique and help you learn choreography faster.

Footwork, Bounces, Slides, and Pivots

Kyle deconstructs the footwork, bounces, slides, and pivots that make up the foundation of most choreography. In the class, you’ll learn how to achieve clean transitions between moves by controlling your weight and anticipating the upcoming move.

Intention, Emotion, Storytelling

Effective dancers are not only technically skilled, but also know how to tell stories with their performances. In the class, Kyle deconstructs how to use facial expressions, body language, and dynamics to embody intention and convey emotion.

Textures, Musicality, and Execution

Kyle breaks down all of the different textures and qualities of movement you can use in your performance, and shows you how to single out the best way of executing a move to complement the music and emotional narrative of a choreography.

The Four Dials of Dynamics

Kyle dives deep into the four “dials” of dynamics: Fluidity, Resistance, Space, and Energy. Learn how to adjust these dials based on your interpretation of the music, and integrate them into your dancing for a more compelling performance.

Identifying and Correcting Bad Habits

Dancers of all experience levels can pick up bad habits that hold them back from reaching their potential. In this class, Kyle breaks down the most common bad habits and introduces specific exercises and techniques to correct them.

Finding Confidence in Your Movement

Dancing more confidently not only makes dancing more fun and fulfilling but also helps you truly commit to a performance. In the class, Kyle explains how to find confidence as a dancer to enhance your performances and motivate you to keep dancing.

Developing Your Unique Style

Developing a unique style as a dancer makes dancing more personal and helps you connect with an audience. In the class, Kyle teaches you how to develop your own style by finding moments in the choreography to personalize and make your own.

Making Deliberate Choices

Kyle believes that the best dancers are smart dancers. In the class, he walks you through the process of making decisions that are right for you, elevating your performance by giving your dancing more depth, and helping you connect with the audience.

Uncovering Your Superpowers

Kyle helps you discover the aspects of dance you naturally excel at, your ‘superpowers’, and shows you how to highlight these abilities to become a more powerful performer. This will make you more confident and help you define your dancing style.

How to Improve Faster as a Dancer

Kyle is a choreographer and dance educator who helps dancers of all levels become more effective. He’ll teach you how to analyze your performances, identify strengths and weaknesses, and apply what you learn to improve at an accelerated pace.

Once you enroll, you’ll be placed in a peer group of 20 other dancers from around the world, who will take the class with you. You all will start the class on the same day.

The time commitment for the class is around 5-8 hours per week for 4 weeks. This includes about 3-4 hours per week of instruction and 3-4 hours per week of dance projects, feedback sessions, and other class work.

Depending on your schedule, you can budget about 1 hour every day during the month, or you can schedule a few longer sessions each week.

Either way, the class is designed to immerse you in the learning process, while still fitting into almost anyone’s busy schedule.

Are classes live? Do I have to log in at a specific time?

No, all the video lessons are pre-recorded, allowing you to watch them whenever is best for you.

Inside the classroom, you’ll see a ‘Today’s Tasks’ section, where you’ll see the classwork you should complete to stay on track. Even though other students might complete things at different hours during the day, everyone is completing the same projects and watching the same videos day-by-day. It will still feel like you’re in a classroom and part of a vibrant group of students: You’ll be interacting with peers, getting feedback, and learning with hands-on projects.

You’ll get many of the benefits of learning in-person, but from the comfort of your own home and the flexibility of your own hours.

What tools and equipment will I need for this class?

You’ll take the class completely online, so you’ll need a computer, tablet, or phone to access the classroom.

How do the peer groups and feedback work?

Once you enroll, you’ll be placed in a peer group of 20 other dancers from around the world, who will take the class with you. You all will start the class on the same day. Throughout the class, you’ll share your ongoing work, give and receive feedback, and ask and answer questions.

Kyle Hanagami will have access to the peer groups to listen to students’ work, and may occasionally answer questions and give feedback. Your peer group will help you stay accountable, learn from new perspectives, and make new friends around the world.

Will I get direct feedback from Kyle Hanagami?

We can’t guarantee that Kyle will comment on your work directly, but we’ve designed the class so that you’ll get thorough feedback from your peers. You’ll get personalized feedback by submitting your projects on time, documenting your process, and playing an active role in your group.

Kyle will also have access to the peer groups to answer questions, give feedback, and post responses during class. You will have complete access to all the feedback and answers Kyle gives within your peer group and even within the other peer groups in the class. There’s a lot to learn from this ever-growing library of real student feedback.

What happens if I miss a project deadline or don’t finish the class on time?

We recommend that you follow the curriculum as it’s laid out to avoid falling behind. If you do submit a project late, we’ll help you get back on track. Nevertheless, submitting your work on time is the best way to build momentum and receive personalized feedback from your peers and possibly Kyle Hanagami.

Do I take this class from home?

Yes, the class is taught completely online, allowing you to take it from anywhere. Even though it’s online, it will still feel like you’re in a classroom and part of a vibrant group of students: You’ll be interacting with peers, getting feedback, and learning with hands-on projects.

You’ll get all the learning benefits of an intensive dance school, but from the comfort of your own home.

Will I still have access to the class after the month is over?

Yes, once the month is over, you’ll have lifetime access to the video lessons, the full curriculum, your learning path, and your peer group. You’ll be able to use the class as a resource for the rest of your dance career.

How much does the class cost?

This class is an accelerated process that takes you through one year of intensive dance school in 30 days, which would typically be priced at $10,000 or higher. To make this level of dance education as accessible as possible, the class is priced at $249. This is a commitment you are making to yourself.

Do you have a refund policy?

Yes. If for any reason you don’t want to take the class anymore, get 100% of your money back if you request it within the first 5 days of the class. You can process your refund directly in your account settings.

When does this class start? When’s the next one?

The previous session of this class started on Jan 4, 2021. Please join the waitlist to be notified when the next session of the class opens for enrollment.

Because of Kyle Hanagami’s active involvement with the class, this class is only offered a few times per year.

Does it matter which timezone I’m in?

No, it doesn’t matter which timezone you are in. You can take this class from anywhere in the world.

The lessons are pre-recorded, so you can watch them around your own schedule. Monthly recommends the tasks you should complete each day, but you can decide when you will complete them.

Despite your timezone, you will start the class on the same day as all the other students, and will be working towards the same goals at the same time. We’ve tried to design the class in a way that it will help you stay committed and feel immersed in the process, but also flexible enough that you can fit it into your personal schedule.

What if I’m too busy right now? Can I enroll later?

We know that life is busy. There’s probably never going to be a perfect time. We also know that we all crave to be more creative and to do interesting things outside of our normal day-to-day routines.

We’ve designed this class to fit into almost anyone’s busy schedule, so you can easily immerse yourself in the creative process in a way you probably never thought possible.

Yes, even if you have a full-time job, or are a full-time student, or have family obligations. If you commit to yourself and to your creativity, we think you’ll be surprised by just how much you can learn and create in a month. If you’re interested and enrollment is still open, we say go for it!

Otherwise, the class runs a few times per year, so there will be future opportunities.
